It was at the end of the 1960s that Japanese manufacturers rigorously studied all the needs of the American market. Aware that farmers may need a small machine to go around their farm,Suzuki therefore developed a motorcycle project with simple specifications: easy to handle, stable, low and equipped with low pressure tires to evolve quietly in the fields.1
It was then that the Suzuki RV (RV for "Recreational Vehicle") was released in 1972. Several displacements coexisted: 50cc, 90cc and 125cc. Only, with such a look and its ease of handling, the machine quickly became popular with city dwellers but especially with surfers and other beach enthusiasts. Remaining in the manufacturer's catalog for a decade, it bowed out in 1985.
